We currently have a vacancy for a School Finance Officer
Hempsted Church of England Primary School is a single form entry school on the outskirts of Gloucester. After many years in the role, our School Finance Officer is retiring and we are therefore now looking to fill this important position in our office.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in school finances; however training will be offered depending on the need of the successful candidate. More importantly, we are looking for someone who is calm, friendly, reliable and has the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people who have an interest in our school. Additionally, a high level of confidentiality and the ability to work independently are important to this role.
The successful candidate should:
- have a miniumum of NVQ3 or equivalent
- have GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
- be IT literate with a good understanding of Excel and other Office programmes
- have successful experience of administration work in a school office
- have excellent organisational skills
This is a permanent contract for 22.5 hours a week and is term time only. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 1pm each day.

We currently have a vacancy for a Clerk to the Governing Body.
The role involves preparing the agendas and papers for all Governor meetings, arranging the meetings themselves and taking accurate minutes for distribution.
The core responsibility will consist of facilitating meetings of:
Full Governing Body; Resources Committee; Ethos, Curriculum and Standards Committee and Strategy Group meetings.
The Clerk will also be required to attend any Extraordinary Meetings that are called.
The hours required will be 75 per year and these will be subject to review. Additional hours will be agreed in advance.
The nature of the work requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and organisation, with the ability to complete work to very tight deadlines. Experience of this role would be helpful, but is not essential, and training will be provided. Meetings usually take place in the late afternoon/early evening.
